National Certified Insurance & Coding Specialist (NCICS)
This person is a specialist at insurance billing. They may also
be known as an electronic claims processor, medical biller, or a
reimbursement specialist. It is an extremely important area of
work in both medical and dental practices. Areas of Study; Law &
Ethics, Medical Terminology, ICD-9 Coding, Claims Processing,
Office Procedures, and CPT Coding.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. A graduate of an approved course of study in Insurance &
Coding Or Documentation of at least one year of experience as an
Insurance & Coding Specialist
National Certified Medical Office Assistant (NCMOA)
Medical Office Assistants usually work in physician's
offices. They are usually considered front office staff and
primarily handle administrative duties. They are responsible for
the organization and ability to make the office function
smoothly. Areas of Study; Computer Literacy, Business
Communication, Medical Terminology, Law & Ethics, Patient
Control, Insurance, Office Procedures, and OSHA Regulations.
Requirements:
1.High School Diploma or Equivalent
2.A graduate of an approved course of study as a Medical Office
Assistant Or Documentation of at least one year of experience as
a Medical Office Assistant
